Pharmacy Quality Scheme dates – PSNC Breifing
Following the recent publication of further detail on PQS 2021/22 from NHSBSA, PSNC have published a briefing for contractors highlighting important dates.
Contractors should be aware the ‘Inhaler disposal’ criterion with the Respiratory domain should have been implemented from this week – 1st September 2021.

NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) published further detail on the 2021/22 Pharmacy Quality Scheme in Part VIIA of the September 2021 Drug Tariff.

Extention: COVID-19 LFD distribution service
The Community Pharmacy COVID-19 Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Distribution Service or ‘Pharmacy Collect’, has been extended until the end of this month – 30th September 2021.

Vaccinations for NHS staff entering care homes
On 11th November 2021, government regulations will require care home staff to refuse entry for those who cannot evidence that they are double vaccinated or specified exemption. This applys to all CQC care homes in England. Only staff who are vaccinated/exempt should be deployed to a care homes from 11 November 2021
Support staff of relevant providers of NHS funded services need to to have their first COVID-19 vaccine by 16 September 2021 to ensure the second is done prior to the deadline.
