Pharmacy Quality Scheme Gateway criteria – NHS.UK profile
30th November 2019– Final date to update NHS.UK for advanced services. Note: This is gateway criterion and MANDATORY to participate in the PQS 2020.
To meet the gateway criterion contractors are required to edit or validate three sections of their NHS website (NHS.UK) profile between 00:00 on 1st October 2019 and 11:59pm on 30th November 2019.
Pharmacy Quality Scheme – Updating your DOS profile
As part of the digital enablers domain of the Pharmacy Quality Scheme, you are required to update your DOS profile
‘On the day of the declaration, the pharmacy must have updated its NHS 111 DoS profile via the DoS updater, including its opening hours for Easter Sunday 2020 and public and bank holidays including Christmas Day 2019, Boxing Day 2019, New Year’s Day 2020, Good Friday 2020, Easter Monday 2020, Early May Bank Holiday 2020 and Spring Bank Holiday 2020, and must promptly update its profile as information changes, to ensure information is accurate for real time referrals, e.g. from NHS 111 providers. The update window for the February 2020 declaration is between 00:00 on 1st October 2019 and 23:59 on 30th November 2019.’
CPCS – Final week to receive the full payment!
If you have not already signed up for CPCS, next week is the final week to ensure you receive the full transition payment supplement of£900 – The deadline is 1st December 2019
Participating pharmacies will be required to provide the service at all times during their full opening hours, so please ensure that all staff are prepared and know how to provide this service, including all locum pharmacists.
Pharmacy contractors can now register to provide the service and claim the Transition payment supplement (£900 if claimed by 1st December 2019).
If you sign up between 2 December 2019 and 11:59pm on 15 January 2020, you’ll receive £600 and any registrations after 16 January 2020 will not receive a transition payment.

November 2019 Price Concessions – 2nd update
An update for November 2019 Price Concessions has been granted.
SSP02 and SSP03 updates
SSP02 – Extension and Amendment
SSP02 for Fluoxetine 30mg capsules has been extended until 18th December 2019.
There has also been an amendment to SSP02 – In cases where it is appropriate to follow the protocol, pharmacists must now supply Fluoxetine 10mg capsules instead of tablets – i.e. for every Fluoxetine 30mg capsule supply 1 x Fluoxetine 10mg capsule, plus 1 x Fluoxetine 20mg capsule.
SSP03 – Expired
The SSP03 for Fluoxetine 40 mg capsules expired Wednesday 20th November as there is now sufficient stock is now available to supply normal demand for Fluoxetine 40mg capsules.

These medicines have been recalled by OTC Concepts Ltd, Relonchem Ltd, Noumed Life Sciences Ltd and Medreich Plc as a precautionary measure due to possible contamination with an impurity.

City maps phone scam
We have had reports of a a scam that is attempting to bill pharmacies retrospectively for an agreement around updating maps.
The contractor has attached a copy of a fax they received in branch and then a follow up call as below;
The LPC’s in the areas affected have investigated further and found reports of similar scams in vetinary surgeries (see articles below)
Please inform us of any similar calls in the local area.
PSNC Pharmacy systems survey – Please submit your views
PSNC and the Community Pharmacy IT Group (CP ITG), are conducting a survey on pharmacy PMR systems, asking pharmacy teams which enhancements they would like to see prioritised.
Please ask all pharmacy staff to submit their views to ensure your priorities and thoughts are considered.
