Reminder: Re-validation required by the end of this month

For many pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, the GDhC revalidation deadline approaching.

The Renewal window open for submission is already open and will close 31st October 2019.

NEL LPC are pleased to invite you to a CVD update that will be presented by Paul Wright.

Paul is the lead Cardiac Pharmacist at Barts Health NHS Trust He is currently co-chair of the UKCPA Cardiac Committee and Program Guardian for several cardiac topics for CPPE. He has a specialist interest in Heart Failure.

September 2019 Price Concessions – update

An update to the September price concessions have been granted, please click here to view on the PSNC website.

Reminder: Action required by pharmacies – SSPs for Fluoxetine

Due to the ongoing supply issues with Fluoxetine, DHSC have issued Serious Shortage Protocols for 10mg, 30mg and 40mg capsules. 20mg capsules are currently in good supply.

Please read through the followins SSPs in full and implement them as appropriate, with immediate effect from today, Thursday 3rd October.

These are the first SSPs to be issues by DHSC, they can be revoked or amended at any time. At the current time these are expected to be in place until the end of October, we will update contractors when more information becomes available.

Class 4 Medicines Defect Information: Emerade 150, 300 and 500 microgram solution for injection in pre-filled syringe

The MHRA has notified Bausch and Lomb UK Limited of reports that Emerade pens have failed to activate. The MHRA is advising that Emerade devices should not be recalled.
