“Where best next?” campaign from NHS England

NHS doctors, nurses and other staff are being encouraged to get people discharged from hospital and sent home sooner.

The “Where best next?” campaign hopes to see around 140,000 people every year spared a hospital stay of three weeks or more. Posters and other information will encourage staff to do what they can to get patients closer to a safe discharge – whether to their own home or a more suitable alternative in the community.

Unsung Hero Awards

Please see the following details of the unsung hero awards, check through the categories and you can enter yourself for your own achievement or nominate someone you believe deserves recognition for their contribution.

The Unsung Hero Awards, which launched on 1 August, recognise and honour non-clinical staff, teams and volunteers who go above and beyond the call of duty for the NHS.

The awards shine a light on the hard work and commitment of people who are vital to our health service but are sometimes overlooked. Colleagues, friends and family can nominate anyone they feel is deserving in one of 11 categories including administration, estates, IT, volunteer and leader.
