Mandatory Campaign begins this month
Children’s Oral Health
The second mandatory campaign for 2019/20 has been confirmed as Children’s Oral Health. This will begin in 11 days, on Monday 13th May and will run for one month, coinciding with National Smile Month (http://www.nationalsmilemonth.org/). The campaign will come to an end on Thursday 13th June.
You should have received more information in a letter from NHSE, be expecting branded campaign materials at the pharmacy and have ensured that you and your staff are aware of what is expected of them during this month to actively participate. In addition to materials that you will receive in the post, it is also advised that you familiarise all patient facing staff with the PHE materials available.
Children’s oral health was recently included in Quality Payment Criterion, those who completed the CPPE course will find their learning relevant to this campaign. The course is available from CPPE at https://www.cppe.ac.uk/gateway/oralhealth
For links to materials and more information on what to do before the campaign begins this month, click here to view the LPC’s campaign page.

British Heart Foundation’s May Measurement Month
Message from the British Heart Foundation
You may have heard of the May Measurement Month campaign and are interested in getting involved. We are supporting the campaign, a global blood pressure screening initiative, which aims to improve public awareness of high blood pressure. We are urging people to get their blood pressure tested, whether at home, in a pharmacy, a GP surgery or in a community setting.
As part of this campaign, we have created a range of new resources which can be used in clinical or community settings where blood pressure tests take place. Whilst these have been created to support this campaign, they can be used after May also.
As many as 5 million people in the UK don’t know they have high blood pressure and together we can help change this. Check out our new materials below which you can use to help encourage people to get their blood pressure checked.

Pre-registration Pharmacist Recruitment Event
Wednesday 19th June 2019 (10am-4pm)
ILEC Conference Centre & Ibis London Earls Court, 47 Lillie Road, London SW6 1UD
Health Education England for London and the South East are once again organising a recruitment event for 2019. It is open to all 2020-2021 pre-reg intake students and those pharmacy employers who have registered to recruit via the National Pre-registration Pharmacist Recruitment Scheme, sometimes known as the ORIEL system.
The LPCs in the area are helping to plan this recruitment event, by identifying Community Pharmacies that wish to attend and promote their pharmacy to pre-regs at this event. This year pharmacies have 2 options: being able to exhibit via a stand; or speak and engage with students in a world café environment.
If you are interested in attending this event, then please complete the your details in the attachments by Friday 3rd May 2019 and email back to email@example.com. We will share this information with the organisers of the event, Health Education England, who will be in touch further.
Please noteIf you work for a multiple (CCA) or AIMp member pharmacy, this is being co-ordinated centrally, there is no need to complete this form but please forward to your area manager & ask them to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if they have any queries.
