Price Concessions March 2019

Clinical Governance Deadline on Sunday

Data Security and Protection (DSP) Toolkit

Previously the Information Governance (IG) Toolkit, the deadline to submit is on Sunday 31st March. I understand there have been some technical issues with the website during this week, I have spoken with NHS Digital who have confirmed they are now fixed and that there will be no extension to the deadline.

If you have not already completed, please begin working through this urgently this to ensure you meet the upcoming deadline.

Clinical Audit

You must have undertaken this year’s NHS determined Clinical Audit (Flu vaccinations for people with diabetes, deadline for submission was December 2018) and one of your choosing.

NOTE: The NSAID audit for the Quality Payments Scheme does not count as one of the two pharmacy audits.

CPPQ

You must have undertaken and published your CPPQ for 2018/19, in adherence to the requirements set out in the Approved Particular- See the PSNC website for more information

Complaints Report

Following the Clinical Governance deadline (above), you are required to send your annual complaints report. This will be for complaints received in the last year (year ending 31st March 2019) and must be sent to your local NHS team as soon as possible after the 31st March. Even if you have not received any complaints this year, you still need to send a report.

Prescription charge increase

Please be reminded that from 1st April 2019, the prescription charge will rise to £9.00, 20p more than the current £8.80.

The price of prescription pre-payment certificates (PPCs) will remain the name for another year, a three-month PPC at £29.10 and a 12-month PPC at £104.00.

DMIRS- Extension until September 2019

The London Digital Minor Illness Referral Scheme (DMIRS) has been extended until 30 September 2019

NHS England London may choose to extend the scheme for any period up to 31st March 2020, this is yet to be confirmed.

If you wish to continue providing the service there is currently no action required from you. The SLA for DMIRS will remain the same with the exception of the date, an updated version with the new date will be available on Sonar in due course.

If you would like to opt-out and not provide DMIRS for the extended time period, you can do so at the following link BEFORE 12th April 2019.

National flu immunisation programme plan | GOV.UK

Published Friday 22nd March 2019, a joint letter from the Department of Health and Social Care, Public Health England and NHS England confirmed the eligibility criteria for the Immunisation programme 2019/2020 will remain the same, supporting social care and hospice workers.

Please be reminded that the 2018/19 Community Pharmacy Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Advanced Service comes to an end on Sunday.

Reminder: Pregabalin and Gabapentin will be reclassified 1st April

On Monday, 1st April 2019, Pregabalin and Gabapentin will be reclassified as controlled drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, and Class C of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Please be reminded of the following briefing, ensure you are familiar with the changed and inform your pharmacy staff in preparation for the reclassification next month.
