Competency 11: Make sound financial investments to ensure sustainable development and value for money.

Activity:

*The PCT has relevant information which is integrated with the commissioning cycle.

*Payments are made to incentivize improvement in health outcomes.

LPC Comments:

PCT does not appear to have an investment plan that includes pharmacy as a provider.
There has been no discussion with pharmacy about LTCs and repeat dispensing.
Cost-savings, patient preferences and safety of pharmacy based systems and doctor/pharmacy interface continue to remain outside the scope of PCT thinking.
