Competency 10:Effectively manage systems and work in partnership with providers to ensure contract compliance.
Activity:
- Use of performance information.
LPC Comments:
- Use of electronic system for recording pharmacy based enhanced services is long overdue and lack of this is creating inefficiencies.
- Live data can improve monitoring for volumes and quality and also for motivating pharmacists.
- At present any data available is around three months old and at times meaningless.
LPC Score: Level 1

- Implementation of regular provider performance discussions
LPC Comments:
- Live performance data obtained by electronic system can improve the outcomes and help hold pharmacy contractors more accountable.
- The LPC supports further development to ensure the PCT reaches its target.

- Resolution of ongoing contractual issues
LPC Comments:
- The LPC and the PCT already work together to ensure contract compliance.
- Pharmacist providers, need additional support and resources to further develop practices that benefit pharmacy user e.g. change management; better understanding of outcomes and patient focussed NHS; modernising traditional roles to better support GPs and pharmacy users.
